Ilona J. Frieden
Dr. Frieden is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology and chief of the division of Pediatric Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco. She received her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, where she also completed a pediatric internship and residency and a dermatology residency.
She has been President of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, President of the American Board of Dermatology, and she is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal Pediatric Dermatology and co-editor of the second edition of the textbook, Neonatal Dermatology. Dr. Frieden is currently on the Board of Directors the American Academy of Dermatology.
A world-renowned specialist in children's skin diseases, she has a particular interest in vascular birthmarks and is the founder of the Hemangioma Investigator Group. She is the author of over 200 articles and numerous book chapters.
