Anne Thomson
Dr Anne Thomson MD FRCP, FRCPCH is a Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the Oxford Children’s Hospital and Hon Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Oxford. Her initial medical training was in Aberdeen and further paediatric training was in London and Leicester. She established the Regional Cystic Fibrosis Service in Oxford and has research interests in cystic fibrosis and respiratory infection. She led the British multicentre trial of urokinase in the management of childhood empyema and with colleagues she is currently revising the BTS Guidelines for the Management of CAP in Childhood. She is co -author of the Oxford Specialist Handbook of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine and of a lay textbook Cystic Fibrosis: the Facts.
