Christian Schweizer
Christian Schweizer is an environmental epidemiologist and has been working for the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe as a Technical Officer for noncommunicable diseases and environment since 2006. He has been actively engaged in various projects on climate change and health as well as children's health and environment in general at the international as well as at the country-level. He's most recent work focuses on effective interventions to reduce children's exposure to harmful environmental risk factors by supporting countries in developing evidence-based action plans and policies. He holds a master's degree in environmental sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), with a specialty in environmental hygiene. Before joining WHO he worked in the field of indoor and outdoor air pollution and health research at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
