Hans - Christoph Ε. Steinhausen

Professor Hans-Christoph Steinhausen was born in 1943 in Berlin. He studied medicine and psychology and graduated with an M.D. and a Ph.D. (in psychology). In 1976, he qualified with a postdoctoral dissertation (DMSc) in Psychosomatic Pediatrics at the University of Hamburg. He became Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Free University of Berlin in 1979.

Currently, he holds a chair in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Psychiatric Hospital of Aalborg, University Hospital of Aarhus (DK). Furthermore he is an Honorary Professor at the Department of Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology, University of Basel (CH), and Professor and chairman emeritus at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Zurich, Switzerland.

Professor Steinhausen is author, co-author, and editor of more than 700 publications including 50 books, scientific articles, book chapters and brief communications. Furthermore, he is co-editor of the Acta Psychiatrica Scandinavica and member of the editorial and advisory boards of several international scientific journals.
