Prof. Prem Puri

Professor Prem Puri is a Newman Clinical Research Professor at University College and President of Children’s Research Centre at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Dublin. He is Fellow of UCD Conway Institute at Biomolecular and Biomedical Research in Dublin, Chairman of the Department of Paediatric Surgery at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital and Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital and at The National Children’s Hospital in Dublin. He is also Programme Director for Paediatric Surgical Training in Ireland, President of World Federation of Associations of Pediatric Surgeons (WOFAPS), President of European Paediatric Surgeons Association (EUPSA) and Chairman of Scientific Office of the European Association of Paediatric Surgeons from 2003 to 2009.

Professor Prem Puri is secretary of International Board of Pediatric Surgical Research and member of 25 International learned medical and scientific societies. He is Editor-in-Chief of Pediatric Surgery International and Associate Editor of Journal of Pediatric Surgery and of Journal of Medical Case Reports. He has been awarded with several research grants over the past 30 years and his publications contain 9 books/monographs, 103 chapters in textbooks and over 420 articles in peer reviewed journals. The book on Pediatric Surgery published in 2007 has been translated in to Russian, Chinese and Turkish.

Professor Prem Puri’s presentations at International Scientific Meetings are over 518 including 113 at the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons, 29 at the Canadian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, 43 at the American Pediatric Surgical Association, 61 at the American Academy of Pediatrics and 91 at the Pediatric Surgical Research Society.
