Abstracts can be submitted to any of the following topics:

  • Infectious Diseases
  • Neonatology

  • Pulmonology
  • Rheumatology
  • Themes οn Children’s Environmental Health
    • Air pollution
    • Neurotoxicants
    • Child cancer and environmental factors
    • Prevention of road traffic accidents

Other paediatric topics for presentations will also be accepted. The deadline for submission of abstracts is: Friday, September 10th, 2010

PRESENTATION TYPES Please bear in mind that the Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts and decide as to the form of presentation (oral or poster) as well as the topic the abstract will be presented under.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION / GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. The abstract submission deadline expires on September 10th 2010.
  2. Abstracts submitted for the Excellence in Paediatrics can be submitted by e-mail or online
  3. In order to submit abstract, at least the presenting author has to be registered to the Conference.
  4. An author may present one (1) paper only, however he/she may be co-author to more.
  5. The Scientific Committee of the Conference will decide upon the presentation type of each abstract, date and time of presentation.
  6. Presenting authors will be informed about the status of the abstract (accepted / rejected), on October 11th, 2010.
  7. The author acting as contact person will have been notified about the successful submission of the abstract within three (3) days of the abstracts has being received. In the event that you do not receive such notification, please contact the Professional Congress Organiser.
  8. All accepted abstracts will be included in the Book of Abstracts of the Excellence in Paediatrics Conference.
  9. If you wish to withdraw an abstract, please contact the PCO before September 10th, 2010, otherwise the papers will be published in the abstract book and/or be posted on the Conferences website if accepted.
  10. Previously published or presented at international meeting and/or conferences research is not acceptable.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following submission guidelines: A. Format

  1. Language: English
  2. Abstract text word limit: 300 words (names and affiliation details are not included)
  3. Suggested font: Tahoma, size 10 cpi
  4. Text alignment: Justified
  5. Spacing between the title, the author(s) and the abstract text: Single
  6. Line spacing of the text: Single
  7. Abstract title typed in: UPPER CASE
  8. The family name(s) of the author(s) should be written in lower case preceded by the first name(s) of the author(s) written in full.
  9. The presenting author’s name must be written in bold.
  10. All authors’ affiliation details [department, institution / hospital, city / town, state (if applicable) and country] should be written under the names, preceded by the correspondence indices. The affiliations should NOT be mentioned in the abstract text.
  11. The abstract should be divided in the following section (the titles being typed in lower case and in bold): Introduction – Purpose – Material – Methods – Results – Conclusions.
  12. The text may include standard abbreviations, tables, diagrams and photographs, as long as they remain within the page margins and the total amount of words does not exceed the abovementioned limit (300 words).

B. Submission

  1. Via e-mail: Authors may send the abstract to the e-mail address eip-abstracts@candc-group.com attaching:
    1. The Registration & Abstract Submission Form duly completed and
    2. The abstract in Microsoft Office Word format following the instructions given above.
  2. On-line: Authors may submit their abstract online by clicking HERE and completing all required fields. Should you encounter any difficulties in submitting your abstract on-line please do not hesitate to contact the Conference Organiser at eip-abstracts@candc-group.com.

Abstracts submitted via fax or mail will NOT be accepted. Please address any inquiries regarding abstract submission to: eip-scient@candc-group.com

REVIEW PROCESS All submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and evaluated in terms of their appropriateness and their overall quality. While the review is intended to be constructive and educational, it will also assist in the selection of submissions for presentation.
